Ahhhh, I love that new gear smell. :-) This was an open box item that I purchased from pishposhbaby.com and it had never been outside. You could tell the wheels had never left the house. Anyway, on to my review and initial thoughts...
It was fairly straightforward to put together although the instructions that came with the stroller were kind of weird. They were all photos and there were some things that I just had to figure out on my own because the photo wasn't very clear. But that's ok. I'm handy. Fortunately for me, as I was assembling, my son found a use for the box...

Ok, stroller is assembled. The brake on this thing is kind of hard to use. If I'd had running shoes instead of flip flops on, it might have been easier. Also, a friend told me her husband said it felt flimsy and I'd have to agree that it's not as sturdy as our BOB was. But I think it's lighter by a whole 10 lbs. For a practical review, I sent hubby out for a walk with our son the second he got home so I could cook dinner in peace. He came home saying it wasn't as sturdy, and not as easy to pop wheelies with as the BOB. We have a lot of curbs around here, hence the wheelie popping comment. I hope. But he liked it, in general.
Long story short, I am liking the Phil and Ted, despite it's flimsy feel because when you put the rear seat on, it's still compact. How many doubles can you say that about? The moms I see rolling around with the BOB are constantly apologizing, etc. for their wide load. No thanks. I'd like to fit through doorways with room to spare, please. Plus, it's not THAT flimsy. We were comparing to our BOB. It's definitely not as flimsy as other brands I probably shouldn't mention here. So, it's a trade off...less heft for more space. But that's fine with me. PLUS, I can always go back to a single when the older one is too big for the stroller but the younger one wants a ride or if hubby takes just one kid for a walk, he doesn't have to feel stupid rolling in a double with one kid...and he would complain about that.
We have a Phil & Teds. We love it for our 23M & 1W old. My sister-in-law got one when she had her second baby. We all live in small walking towns & the narrow footprint is priceless. We walk everywhere! We went ahead and got the Phil & Teds when we bad our first. We enjoyed it as a single & are now enjoying it as a double. Good luck!
