From Holden's blog |
I promise, it is not staged. He was literally flipping the cover open and closed like he was reading the book. He was also not happy when I took it away from him.
In other news...we bought *gasp* a walker. I said I wouldn't get one. They are on my list of super dangerous baby gear items that are just too risky for my sweet baby. Yeah. Then Oma taught Holden that it was fun to walk. And he'd rather do that than anything else. My back couldn't take it. I broke down and headed to Babies R Us and dropped some coin on this evil piece of equipment. WORTH the money all the way!!! :-) I eat my words.
When we took Levi to the high risk infant clinic, due to the fact he was a preemie, they said not to get him a walker or play saucer thing because it would teach him to walk on his toes, but I didn't listen and I got him an exesaucer (sp?) anyway. And any thinking about a walker. He loves to stand, more than sitting up, which he just started doing a week ago. But I can't always hold him up for the length of time he wants to be held up. Oh and I love the flight advice. I was so worried about the car seat situation, but I think I am going to do what you said and take his with us and check it if a seat isn't open. That way we don't have to rent one. Uggh this trip will be the death of me, jk.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Teach him young and he will never resort to ramen & corn flakes as a young man for "gourmet" meals.
ReplyDeleteJennifer - I don't think Holden walks on his toes. I'll have to pay attention. We also walk around holding his hands too so he gets both methods! I bought the walker because I couldn't handle holding him up anymore either. He LOVES it. He can go from screaming nightmare to cooing happy baby in 2.5 seconds if I stick him in there.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry...you have a helper with you! He'll do just fine!!!! I stressed for weeks before I trip and it went smoothly. The only hiccup was the time it took to go thru security. They had to do a vapor test on my pumped milk. That was more a pain in the rear than anything.
Lisa - my gourmet meal was always box mac n cheese and i'd add in real grated cheese. I confess, I still make it. :-)
